Co-Founders
Louella & Serena
Louella LePage has been working with children and adolescents in a variety of settings since 2013. She continuously studies the benefits of self-directed learning by traveling to work with communities and schools around the world. Louella worked at Wildwood Agile Learning Center for 2 years in Boone, NC. In 2018, she went to a two week workshop for agile learning facilitators where she met a network of parents, teachers, and children who are a part of the “out-school” collective. This included travel families, homeschoolers, and families looking to supplement their child’s education. In 2019, Louella graduated from Appalachian State University with her BA in Science, Psychology and continued working as a private caretaker and public school teacher. In 2021, Louella enrolled at NC State University, and graduated with her MAT, Special Education in May, 2023. Since the beginning of June 2023, Louella has been working as a teacher at a nature and art based school called Elvetia in Switzerland. The collimation of all of these experiences has led her to create a community in her hometown for young people to be intrinsically motivated to learn through the use of art and nature. Serena LePage has been a child care provider for the past two years on the Outer Banks. She is also a local art teacher and director of a children’s art club. She is passionate about giving children fun learning experiences that will create long lasting memories. She always holds a healthy and friendly space where children can create and play aside each other. Together, Louella and Serena provide a secure and inclusive environment for children to explore whatever the day brings.
